| Phase I study at Northwick Park Hospital |

On 16.03.06 CCRA stated:
- CCRA is surprised and shocked to learn of these events. We are very concerned for the health of the volunteers and hope that they will recover soon.
- Over 15 Phase I companies, including Parexel, are members of CCRA. We agree with the ABPI and the MHRA that severe reactions in Phase I are
extremely rare.
- The study has been suspended and this incident is being investigated by the MHRA, Department of Health and the police. It would not be helpful to the volunteers, their families and friends to speculate on what happened. We must wait for the results of the expert enquiry.
